Japanese Otaku: I Married An Anime Character

In Japan, those addicted to video games and animation are called "otaku". Now, a growing number of otaku say they have fallen in love with cartoon characters and have given up on the idea of dating in the real world.

Every day Akihiko Kondo wakes up to the voice of his wife. She wakes him from the other side of the room, her voice is very high, very small, and she talks like a song. The Cosplay Sex Doll also dances in circles, urging him out of bed.

In November last year, Kondo and Hatsune Miku held a wedding. Of course it wasn't an officially recognized wedding ceremony, but he still invited 39 guests. This number represents the Japanese pronunciation of "future".

On that day, Hatsune Miku appeared in the form of a furry sex doll. She wore a white lace wedding dress with a long veil. The costumes are the work of a designer who contacted Kondo after he announced his engagement to Hatsune Miku.

Kondo himself wore a plain white dress with white flowers on the lapel and his usual square glasses, smiling broadly. He held her to his chest with her bouquet.
